Ustad Sultan Khan was an Indian Sarangi player and Classical vocalist belonging to Indore Gharana. He was one of the members of the Indian fusion group Tabla Beat Science, with Ustad Zakir Hussain and Bill Laswell. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian honor, in 2010. He has played a pivotal role in developing the Sarangi from a peripheral accompaniment instrument to one now used in solo performance.
Come witness this unique one-of-a-kind experience on his Remembrance Day led bySabir Sultan Khan, an acclaimed sarangi player and the son of Indian Classical maestro Ustad Sultan Khan accompanied by world class musicians Mathias Duplessy (guitar), Aliocha Regnad (violin), Zied Zauori (Tunisian violin), Mandaakhai Daansuren (Mongolian morin khuur & throat singing) and Dr. Shantanu Ghokale (santoor).
